#039 En mode “moine”

#039 In “monk” mode

Empty your mind and explore your inner world

That's it, we are starting a new period where the context and the temperatures are cooler and invite us to stay at home. While everything seems to be swirling intensely around us, now is the perfect time to consider clearing our minds and exploring our inner world .

The monk's life isn't for entrepreneurs, but committing to living it over a period of a few weeks could make you a more productive and resilient entrepreneur . The goal of our blog is to show you another way to manage your stress or your day.

Monk mode

“Monk mode” is an intentional lifestyle that advocates a certain form of isolation and introspection in order to gain greater clarity. In times like these, constant distractions and mental and emotional fog can prevent us from seeing the opportunities available to us.

Allowing yourself some downtime becomes a necessity. By adopting monk mode and practicing a moment of “meditation” or simply clearing our minds on a daily basis, we can face the problems and tensions of life in a calm and balanced way.

Here's how to do it.

  • Retire to a quiet place and sit Indian style in a comfortable place. Close your eyes!
  • Also turn off your cell phone and any electronic distractions. This is your moment;
  • Start by observing normal and natural breathing in order to concentrate the mind. Once attention is sharpened, proceed to observe the changing nature of the body (air leaving and entering through the nose, tickling, heat, coldness, scratching, pain, etc.).

A real awareness

It is this awareness through direct experience that constitutes the work of relaxation. This allows us to identify the compulsive and unconscious patterns that escape us when we give head to everything that is happening around us.

It is also recommended during these few weeks to reduce:

  • Use of social media (maximum 30-60 minutes per day);
  • Browsing without a specific purpose on the internet;
  • The habit of taking out your phone at any time to see if there is anything new.

By taking a break from your day, this meditation can:

  • Improve our ability to be imperturbable;
  • Increase our output and productivity ;
  • Amplify our self-awareness;
  • Reduce our mental instability;
  • Create the foundation to develop self-sustaining healthy habits.

This practice seems uncomfortable at first, but it will allow you to better understand what is happening around you and within you. After a few weeks, you will be amazed at how much you have learned and accomplished. You will likely feel more at peace with yourself, and this will reflect positively in your business as well as your relationships.

Current circumstances lend themselves perfectly to falling into monk mode for a month or two, so this is a golden opportunity for you to try it!
