#042 Construire une vision, une mission et des valeurs, entreprise forte basée sur l’intégrité fiscale

#042 Building a vision, mission and values, strong business based on fiscal integrity

Building strong enterprise value takes a lot of work

Building a vision, mission and values, strong business based on fiscal integrity is not easy, as it requires a lot of professional tact and judgment.

One of our most important values: completeness.

Not all good work is always noticed. When we close a year of accounting, or when we deliver financial statements, the auditors do not see the errors and problems with which we had to deal. All they see is a company whose accounting activities are in order, in compliance with tax laws.

Integrity

Last month, a CPA who is very close to our business called us to congratulate us on our “very high integrity.” It is a value that sometimes goes unnoticed , but which often requires a lot of tact in our work.

We make it our duty to work in a way that benefits our customers as much as possible. However, we occasionally have to manage requests that do not correspond to the ethical standards to which we adhere.

For example, a client asked us to account for an asset that had nothing to do with their business operations as if the asset helped generate revenue. Another wanted to count his hunting and fishing expenses as advertising expenses in order to generate revenue. A third client tried to avoid issuing a T4A statement to his girlfriend, who was his supplier.

We always respond to requests that may lead to fraudulent transactions through education. We remind our customers of the rules, we explain what can be done and what could cause them trouble, and we suggest the right steps to follow. Often, customers change their minds and therefore improve their ways of doing things. But sometimes clients remain dissatisfied with the boundaries we choose to respect, and we must end the relationship.

We are starting to see a new generation of entrepreneurs who attach great importance to the social responsibility of their company. We believe that ethics, fiscal integrity and accounting integrity are integral to the values of social responsibility.

The 6DT team will always carry out its mission of educating entrepreneurs to adopt healthy, clear and honest accounting.
